• CLIVAR Exchanges Newsletters

The CLIVAR Exchanges newsletter is an un-refereed means of rapidly disseminating scientific results and information about the CLIVAR programme and related science and organisational issues.

The articles that we accept often present preliminary results or summaries and are of limited length - contributions should not exceed three pages, INCLUDING figures.

  • Scientific Steering Group

The 23rd session of the CLIVAR Scientific Steering Group (SSG) was held on November 27-30, 2017 in Pune, India, hosted by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology where the International CLIVAR Monsoon Project Office is based.

  • CLIVAR/GEWEX Monsoons Panel

Monsoons are a global phenomenon and overall progress in our scientific understanding of monsoons will benefit by the interaction of individuals and groups that study these various regions. Furthermore, the efforts of the Global Water and Energy Exchanges (GEWEX) project are highly relevant to the terrestrial and hydro-thermodynamic aspects of monsoons.

The CLIVAR/IOC-GOOS Indian Ocean Region Panel provides scientific and technical oversight for implementation of the sustained ocean observing system for the Indian Ocean and coordinates research on the role of the Indian Ocean on the climate system.

The International CLIVAR Monsoon Project Office (ICMPO), a subset of the International CLIVAR Project Office (ICPO) was established at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) with the approval of the Union Cabinet on 12th August 2015. CLIVAR (Climate and Ocean - Variability, Predictability, and Change) a core project of the World Climate Research Program (WCRP) is dedicated to the understanding and prediction of Ocean-atmospheric interactions and their influence on climate variability and change.
